Come to the Contribution Lounge
Drupal is an open source project. A lot of people doing many kinds of things make open source projects like Drupal possible. People collaborate on every aspect of it: writing the code, promoting it, writing documentation and training, and here at BADCamp, doing conferences. Collaboration is what we do. So to foster collaboration, we've set aside some space to help people at BADCamp work on Drupal and things related to it.
The BADCamp Contribution Lounge will be open every day during BADcamp. We set up the room with tables, power strips, drinks and snacks... so you can come to the room with your laptop and get going. The Lounge gives a perfect alternative to attending sessions with a space to work on something alone or together with other contributors.
It's not just for developers! Are you new to coding or tech? Or never have had the opportunity to give back to the community? Come on down! There will be plenty of mentors available to help get you started. We can walk you through how to do that. You'll learn about the issue queue, the list of bugs and potential improvements for the project. You'll learn how to report an issue, how people work together on them, and how people review the work of others. It's easy, and there are things to do for people at every level of experience or knowledge.
Want to learn how to do this?
We are committed to helping people get started giving back to the Drupal project! Come to our half day training available the first day of camp, Wednesday October 24th: Navigating the Issue Queue - A Beginner's Guide to Contribution.
Visit the training page for more details.
